Myra Canyon Trestles in Kelowna, British Columbia

In the 20th century, this canyon posed a daunting challenge to engineers trying to build a railway line here. The Industrial Revolution’s need for railway connections prompted the ambitious undertaking of the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR). But this was no small feat. Construction of the Myra Canyon section was incredibly difficult because of its steep terrain and remote location.
